Expeditions

As an innovative educational program, we challenge our academy students with new settings and experiences. Children have a personal relationship with nature. Some children are confident in an indoor setting, while others may take time to gain confidence in an outdoor setting, and others who struggle indoors may thrive outside.

Exposure to the natural world stimulates curiosity and fosters a sense of wonder.  Airie Outdoor Academy students enjoy weekly field trips to local parks, woods, creeks, caves, zoos, and farms, providing opportunities for children to become fully immersed in nature and observe and interact with various plants, animals, and ecosystems, thereby promoting a deeper understanding of the environment. Airie Forest School students are invited to join as they are developmentally ready for these exploratory trips. Expeditions typically occur on Thursdays.

*Please Note* Families are responsible for all transportation.
