Homeschool Cooperative
Tennessee encourages families to come together and share in the learning process as a Learning Pod, also known as a homeschool co-op. This opportunity allows families in the Clarksville area to regularly gather at Airie's privately owned Nurture Center and learn together in nature.

Parent Role
During the learning activity, parents are welcome to learn alongside their student, bond with their younger children in the Family Forest School class, or enjoy our Parent Partner Office.

Airie's Bushcraft Class
The intention of our Forest School Learning Pod is to encourage children to learn, practice, and deepen their abilities week by week, helping them grow into capable, confident participants in the natural world.
Each month, we will focus on a seasonal set of forest skills such as:

Whittling

Knot-tying

Shelter Building

Tracking

Risky Play & Agility

Foraging
-
Nature crafting
These playfully guided lessons will be led by our Forest School-trained instructors. This program is designed to be a cohesive journey where skills are introduced, practiced, and deepened over time.
As the seasons shift, so do the children’s experiences, allowing them to build real competence, confidence, and a lasting connection to the land and to their own growing capabilities.
This is a semester-long class that has rolling enrollment.
Summer/Autumn Semester is from August 10, 2026 - December 18, 2026
Winter/Spring Semester is from January 11, 2027 - May 28, 2027
Please Note: Homeschooling Partners must accompany their children for each class.
What about the weather?
There is no bad weather here when you have outdoor gear.
All Airie classes are weather-immersive and occur in rain, snow, and sunshine...but never during thunderstorms.
Sessions will be canceled if dangerous weather systems are predicted or the roads are impassable. If needed, the Nurture Center will be used as a shelter during temporary weather challenges.
To prepare, please check out the gear page for our suggestions about how to dress for the weather. There are many ways to keep comfortable in the heat, rain, snow, and cold.
Family Forest School
An afternoon nature-immersive social skills Homeschool Co-Op class.
Who?
Designed for families with children aged 3 to 5 years who enjoy playing together in nature.
What?
A semester-long Reggio-inspired Forest School co-op class for families.

Artichoke Hearts
A Read-Aloud Club for Children and Parents
At what age should I stop reading aloud to my child?
Almost as big a mistake as not reading aloud to children is stopping too early!
Did you know that each person has a decoding level (reading) and a listening level (read aloud)? All children have different levels of readiness for each element of literacy.
This club is focused on pairing these levels together to enhance everyone's literacy and open up windows to other worlds of exploration. Each two-hour meeting will have opportunities to discuss the shared book and experience literacy-strengthening activities, which may include:

Collaborative Discussion: Dive deeper into the meaning of the group stories with open-ended questions guided by Ms. Kylene.

Literacy Activity: Play-based literacy activities that are targeted practice to improve comprehension, background knowledge, and vocabulary.

Book Buddies: Partner reading based on reading and listening levels

Literacy Newsletter: Filled with play-based literacy ideas to enjoy over the next month.
The fire of literacy is ignited by the emotional sparks between a child, a book, and the person reading.
